So many loved ones in my life have experienced joining a club they never wanted and for this reason, I’ve spent two decades asking others to invest in programs and services that provide support, hope and love. God willing, I will focus the extraordinary privilege I have to lead the Heroes Foundation in a way that will further this personal mission and support thousands more who deserve our care.

Fighting cancer is personal for me. I am a cancer warrior — having fought my own fight with bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma) back in 2011, and having recently lost my dad to brain cancer (glioblastomas) in 2018. It’s such a devastating battle that follows the diagnosis, and I am excited to be part of an organization that provides support to other warriors and their caregivers — and that funds the cutting-edge research that is so necessary to getting ahead of the disease.

Vince and I started fundraising for cancer when he was going through his own cancer fight. My mom lost her third battle with cancer shortly after Vince finished his treatments. I’m fighting cancer because it causes so much pain for a lot of people. It takes loved ones away too soon.

I fight for those who are battling for their lives or the lives of their loved ones. I don’t want those who are fighting to ever feel alone, and I dream someday cancer will no longer be one of humanity’s greatest foes.

I fight cancer for my grandma who lost her battle in 2022. It is empowering to know that the research we fund locally is helping two of my close friend’s moms through their battles with breast cancer. Shoutout to the too many cancer warriors around the world, caregivers, and the people who support this impactful mission.
