Todd brings global health care perspective to Indianapolis cancer organization Heroes Foundation’s board of directors
INDIANAPOLIS — The Heroes Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves the Central Indiana cancer community, announced today that Dr. Catherine Todd of Indianapolis has been selected to serve on the organization’s Board of Directors. She was installed May 1, 2016.
Todd is a scientist in the clinical sciences and the Asia-Pacific Region divisions at FHI 360, a nonprofit human development organization dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways by advancing integrated, locally driven solutions. FHI 360 serves more than 70 countries and all U.S. states and territories. Prior to joining FHI 360, she was on faculty at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Division of Global Public Health at the University of California, San Diego, during some of which time she lived in Egypt, Afghanistan and Thailand.
She has contributed to dozens of scientific studies and more than 50 publications, most of which relate to women’s health issues and infectious diseases. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who completed a fellowship in family planning, during which she received a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore.

Dr. Todd joins a group that already includes six cancer survivors, two physicians, two attorneys, experienced nonprofit organization supporters, four MBAs and avid cyclists.
She joins current Heroes Foundation board members Bryan Babb, Janet Campbell Baker, Brian Betner, Don Birch, Kelly Canada, Kyle Fisher, Renita Haines, Rachel Lechleiter, Eric Orme, Ryan Pettibone, Joel Russell, Dr. Jason Schaffer, Cindy Todd (also executive director and co-founder), Joe Todd, Vince Todd, Jr. (also chairman and co-founder) and Dr. Jeff Wells.
